Hello mate,

The crays will be attracted to any bait you use, so I would say use a bait that's as nutritionally beneficial for the carp as possible - that way you'll have an instant and long term bait.

Our consultant, Vodka Tel fished on a lake that was crawling with the little B*&^ards, and he found that using a shed load of bait worked well, or air drying your bait until granite hard, then glugging in our fish goo did the trick for him.

So, I'd definitely recommend using a fish meal bait, just make sure it's rock hard before you use it. No problem with the birdfood recipe you suggested, but I think you'd catch more on a fishmeal.

Hope this helps!

Cheers, Steve.

Hi Mate,
The lake i'm fishing on is rammed with the crays.
Shrink wrap your baits, double wrap them, prick them and leave them in a bait soak.

Carp r us sell a real good shrink wrapping.
Also pile in the particle and keep the crays munching.

To be fair i'm not finding them a huge problem if i shrink the baits.
I also fish plastics soaked in the bait soak, popped up off the bottom.
